CHICHA MORADA, the ancient Incan Elixir!
Chicha Morada Is a deep purple/black beverage
it’s made from MAIZ MORADO (Purple Corn)
and a variety of different fruits and spices.
Purple Corn is a crop with origins in the Peruvian Andes. It has survived hundreds and thousands of years of colonialism and agricultural modernization. Revered by indigenous people as a “plant of remembrance,” the practice of brewing Chicha Morada is so old that no original recipe for the drink exists.
One of the most widely consumed foodstuffs in Peruvian culture, Purple Corn is an antioxidant powerhouse with numerous health benefits. Its rich, deep purple color comes from Anthocyanin, an anti-inflammatory that regulates blood flow. Chicha Morada promotes heart health, lipid and glucose metabolism, kidney function, improved vision, and lower blood pressure.
The sweet and mildly spicy balance of the beverage is both complex and extremely palatable. ARCO IRIS adds carbonation to our Chicha Morada to give it that sparkly, electric punch that pops your eyes wide open.
